Here's a lovely example of these rare George II figured walnut bureaus, made around 1750 or earlier, lovely book matched drawer fronts and fall with herring bone banding in elm and crossbanding on the desk fall. Interior is also lovely finished with drawers and the sliding cellar space, nicely pattined with sevaral ink stains and a black leather ledger. The drawer rails have the double reeded cross grain faces consistant with the first half of the 18th century, drawers are all oak lined and very original although have just had new runners.
