Here is a restored set of mahogany dining chairs from around 1840, the wood is a lovely fairly light mahogany in a good cleaned and polished state, the joints have been re glued where required and the upholstery loose seats have been completely stripped out re-webbed and padded out with partialy the origional horse hair, re-covered in calico and then with a moss green linnen fabric, should be good for the coming 50 yrs!
