Set of 4 Dutch marquetry chairsSOLD

Here is a quite a remarkable set of four provincialy made late 18th or very early 19th century elmwood chairs with Dutch marquetry decoration. The rich marquetry embelishment is unusual and quite in contrast to these original Georgian sober chairs, which amusingly are not dissimilar  to the designs that were popular in the 50's and 60's, and now are considered Retro. These chairs whilst not being the most robust of chairs are in good solid restored state, the seats have been entierely rebuilt with new webbing and the horse hair filling has been retained.
