18th century mahoagny and satinwood dropleaf tableSOLD
Here is a stunning and very rare 18th century dropleaf table, solid Cuban mahogany top with boxwood and satinwood crossbanding, lovely melow colour and original pattina, the base is richly decorated with the boxwood inlays and finishes in a 1750 brass box castor, there are two ceder lined drawers with locks at either end.
This is a piece inspired by Thomas Sheraton as is the earliest piece in this style I have come accross, most of the Sheraton pieces being made later in the 19th or early 20 the century in the Sheraton revival.
