18th century Bachelors chestSOLD.

Here we have a stunning mahogany bachelors chest from 1780, George III.Used as a dressing chest and desk for a wealthy student who was moving to study in University into rented rooms, extremely rare piece! The feet have the usual extra strengthening  to cope with frequent moves, the locks are of special type diffcult to pick, the top drawer has adjustable divisions and there are lovely carrying handles on each side also.

Condition is very good for a piece of this age, there are some signs of use and abuse but the patina is really good and original, as are the swan drop handles.

Just had 23hrs of restoration to replace the drawer runners and some beading.
