These were made in the 20's in China from the most expensive wood sort available Rosewood, they were made exclusivly for the UK market and are not widely known of in the Netherlands.
The secret mitred mortis and tenon joints are extremely complicated because they join in three different directions from the corners, would be very difficult to reproduce!
These sets are now very desirable as the rosewood has become so expensive it is un affordable.
The finish is origional wax .
