This is quite a unique writting box, beautifully made in inlaid mahogany it has rounded compartments that are both kept shut by the central flap, it has also two secret drawers, those of course will only be revealed to the purchaser, it has a number of adjustable compartmenst which are probably intended for a special purpose, there is also two keyhole plates on the bottom to lock this onto something, possibly it was part of an officers travelling furniture, and had a special place in a trunk of drawer.
