This is a superb copy of the well known painting by Sir John Everett Millais, entitled a childs world from 1886, it became famous when it was used over many generations in advertisements for Pears soap. During Millais's lifetime it led to widespread debate about the relationship between art and advertising. this is a very well executed small version of it, oil on panel unsigned.
